Chief Pharmacist

Job Summary

Pharmaceutical Technologists support accurate dispensing, efficient pharmacy operations, and high standards of customer care. They manage drug inventory, participate in procurement planning, and support patient treatment through safe and responsible medication practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately receive and dispense prescriptions under the supervision of the Chief Pharmacist
• Provide patients with guidance on proper drug use, potential side effects, and safety precautions
• Maintain organization, labeling, and cleanliness within the pharmacy
• Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and flag expired or near-expiry medications
• Support inventory audits and participate in scheduled stock takes
• Ensure compliance with dispensing protocols, record-keeping, and regulatory documentation

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmacy, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hospital, retail, or clinical pharmacy setting
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, dosage forms, and drug safety practices
• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and maintain patient confidentiality
• Ability to work both day and night shifts when allocated
