Under the Medium-Term Strategy (MTS) 2026-2029, Climate Action is one of UNEP’s three strategic objectives, aiming to transition countries to low-emission economic development and enhance their resilience to climate change.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop Knowledge Plans: Implement the Unit’s annual knowledge management plans to align with organizational priorities.
Research and Publish: Draft and publish the bimonthly Global Adaptation Network (GAN) Newsletter and assist with communications for regional events.
Communications Strategy: Develop a communications strategy for the Global EbA Fund, including key messages and target audiences.
Lessons Learned Management: Distill lessons from adaptation projects into publications and manage a lessons learned database.
Qualifications and Special Skills
Education: A Master's Degree in communications, journalism, environmental science, or related fields is required.
Experience: At least 5 years working in communications and organization of international knowledge events.
Communication Skills: Proven ability to produce high-quality communications materials, including written, photo, and video products.
Languages
English: Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
Other Languages: Fluent knowledge of French and/or Spanish is desirable.
