Job Summary
The Environmental Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental protection systems to control pollution, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage environmental risks. The role involves conducting environmental assessments, analyzing data, preparing technical reports, supporting remediation activities, and ensuring compliance with environmental standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design systems, processes, and equipment to control and mitigate air, water, and soil pollution.
- Obtain, update, and maintain environmental permits while ensuring compliance with local and federal environmental regulations.
- Conduct site assessments and technical audits to evaluate environmental impacts, waste disposal practices, and contamination sources.
- Analyze environmental data, develop computer models, and prepare technical reports for stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
- Develop and oversee remediation plans for contaminated sites and environmental hazards.
- Perform quality control (QC) surveillance and inspections throughout installation activities, including final inspections.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in computer modeling and environmental analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of biology, chemistry, and environmental management principles.
- Excellent technical report writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to analyze environmental data and prepare professional reports.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in environmental management and controls.
Certifications and Training
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EPA standards, ISO 14001, or local environmental regulations is an advantage.
Job Terms and Benefits
- Assignment Duration: 12 months, renewable based on performance.
- Monthly Salary: Approximately $2,500 - $3,000 based on a 48-hour work week requirement.
- Working Schedule: 48 hours per week (8 hours per day, 6 days per week).
- Payroll Period: Monthly payment; salary amount is take-home pay.
- Overtime: Work beyond 8 hours per day or work performed on rest days and holidays will be compensated as overtime at the base salary rate.
- Accommodation: Housing, transportation, meals in-country, and laundry facilities are provided.
- Sick Leave: Employees accrue 2.67 hours of sick leave for each full month of service after completing the first full month of foreign service employment.
- Annual Leave: Up to 21 days of paid annual leave after completion of each 12-month contract.
- Travel: Employer-provided travel to the employee’s home country.
