Job Summary
The Finished Product Inspector is responsible for inspecting finished ceramic tiles before dispatch to ensure they meet the company's quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role involves conducting visual and dimensional inspections, verifying product identification and packaging, identifying product defects, and ensuring that only compliant products are approved for storage or shipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect finished ceramic tiles before dispatch to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
- Examine product packaging to ensure it is free from damage and that all labels, printed information, barcodes, and identification codes are accurate, complete, and legible.
- Verify that the product model, SAP code, color code, batch number, and other product identification details on the packaging match the actual product.
- Compare product pattern, design, color, model, and SAP code against approved quality samples to ensure conformity and prevent product mix-ups.
- Conduct dimensional inspections by measuring tile length, width, thickness, squareness, and flatness using approved measuring instruments.
- Perform quality tests, including stain resistance, color consistency, mold orientation, and bottom marking verification.
- Inspect tile surfaces for defects such as cracks, chips, scratches, glaze defects, pinholes, warping, contamination, discoloration, and other visual imperfections.
- Identify, document, and report non-conforming products to the Quality Control team for corrective action.
- Ensure only approved products are released for warehousing or customer shipment.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, quality reports, and documentation.
- Operate and maintain quality inspection tools and measuring equipment in accordance with company procedures.
- Support quality improvement initiatives by identifying recurring defects and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety procedures, and manufacturing regulations.
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, and quality assurance teams to resolve product quality issues.
- Perform other quality inspection duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Physics, or another Science-related field from a recognized institution.
- Additional training or certification in Quality Control (QC) or Quality Assurance (QA) is an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in ceramic tile manufacturing, building materials, or related industries is preferred.
- Experience using quality measuring instruments and inspection equipment is an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of quality control and quality assurance principles.
